I like Metabo tools and I have be very happy with products I've purchased from BigSky. When this nailer came up on a $24.95 promotion, I couldn't resist it. When I opened the box, I could not tell that it was reconditioned. Everything from the box, to the nailer and even the included safety glasses looked new. At this price point, it was a simple choice. I got a better brand than my no-name nailer from HF, it had more features, specifically the size range of brads and the auto setting.
I read many reviews on other websites and I believe the problems are from owners not using oil. I use oil every time in my cheap nailer and of course I will continue that practice with this nailer. If you don't oil it before each use, then don't expect it to last you long. Those brad nails are all glued together. When you drive one through the gun, it leaves debris. The oil helps move it out of the gun. Otherwise it will jam. With this practice I have never had an issue. Also, don't buy cheap brads. Get quality brads, correct oil and maintain this nailer. It will last you a long time!
