I was skeptical at first but went ahead and bought the metabo finish nailer for $24. It was literally brand new. In a hard plastic box and safety glasses. Worked right away with no trouble.

I like Metabo tools and I have be very happy with products I've purchased from BigSky. When this nailer came up on a $24.95 promotion, I couldn't resist it. When I opened the box, I could not tell that it was reconditioned. Everything from the box, to the nailer and even the included safety glasses looked new. At this price point, it was a simple choice. I got a better brand than my no-name nailer from HF, it had more features, specifically the size range of brads and the auto setting. I read many reviews on other websites and I believe the problems are from owners not using oil. I use oil every time in my cheap nailer and of course I will continue that practice with this nailer. If you don't oil it before each use, then don't expect it to last you long. Those brad nails are all glued together. When you drive one through the gun, it leaves debris. The oil helps move it out of the gun. Otherwise it will jam. With this practice I have never had an issue. Also, don't buy cheap brads. Get quality brads, correct oil and maintain this nailer. It will last you a long time!

A very dependable nailer that clenched it for me years ago when it sank 2" brads into a hardwood project with no problem, precise brad placement is easy also. The flip open jam latch is a big plus, lets face it, sometimes the nails mis-fire or jam and it is an easy fix with the front latch. I have been using this gun for years and it is one of my favorite go-to nailers.
Daniel — Melissa, TX
So far, I've had no jams and the nail depth runs true, excellent finish nailer!
Andy — Thousand Oaks, CA
VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. This nail gun came quickly as ordered and looks like brand new to me. I was in a pinch to finish a job and bought replacement parts for mine from a local store some time ago. After a recent tear down I realized he gave me the wrong parts. I thought it best to not waste time and have this one come in two days and it paid off. It is inexpensive and saved me possible frustrations with mine. I have total buyer confidence here and I'm ordering a drywall screw gun today. Thanks ! Andy Simondet Thousand Oaks, Ca. Yes, a true experience.

I have 2 of these I also have a number of other Hitachi guns both air and batt gas. Both 18 gage guns same problem the nails go under the slide and locks the nails in place so they do not advanceto the nose so a lot of misses

grade a looks like it just came out of box. have not used yet
fred — elizabethtown, KY
I have a Senco nailer 18 gauge I have used for years and it still works fine. Now I needed another 18 gauge nailer and decided to buy the Hitachi 18 gauge nailer and I love it. Have had no problems. It is a real good buy. If I ever need another nailer I will give Hitachi first look.
Santos — kermit, TX
Excellent tool for my needs.

This nailer works great. Got the hitachi nails and haven't had a misfire yet. Perfect for my outdoor cabinet project nailing up the thin pine tongue and groove. Very happy with this and quick shipping.
Nathaniel — Forest, MS
Good looked new. Have had a couple of jams in the nail carriage. The nail pusher is jumping up over the nails. I think this is a design flaw in the gun. It seems there is some play between the pusher and the rail causing brads to be able to get between them. Otherwise the gun is great.

I am not a power nailing kind of guy but I will tell you that this gun is a dream to use and adjust. I had read a review on it before the purchase and it performed just as stated in the review which rated it a 5/5. Easy to load and adjust the depth. It was pre-set just right for my 2 inch brads out of the box. Thank you Hitachi and Big Sky!
Mark — Atlantic, IA

Eric — Ojai, CA
This brad nailer is great. So far each one I have bought has performed well and they have not had any power issues. The nails will always sink to the right level even in Oak. This doesn't happen with other brands always.

I have gotten many tools from you and have always been very satisfied. This brad nailer was an upgrade for me since it would accommodate longer nails (2") becoming my primary interior trim nailer. This replaced a 16 ga nailer so now the nail hole will be smaller. Very excited. This gun also features tap fire in addition to trigger fire although IMO this is not important for installing trim. The gun and case were very clean and nice looking. I have used this gun to install a good amount of pre-finished 3\4" thick maple and every nail went in clean. This is a good test as maple is about as hard as I t gets. Very nice. I also really like the safety tip design and find it very easy to put the nail exactly where I want it. Love this gun. I do have one issue. I have had 3 nail jams in the magazine which is something I have never experienced in any of my other air guns except my flooring stapler. To be fair I did buy the cheap brand of nails. I will be monitoring this and won't yet contact you for a solution as I think it may not continue to be a problem. This is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Rick — Oconomowoc, WI
worked very nice miss fired about 10 times putting extra holes in my trim could be the nails couldn't ask for a better product for the price. I have only used it once worked good the first time. see how long it lasts
Samuel — Alice, TX
Not satisfied at all. The tool jammed after one use. Had to bang the cartridge to open it and free the brads. Looked into returning the tool but you have to pay your own shipping plus a restock fee. It was cheaper to keep the tool. Will never buy from this company again. Had to rate one star cause it wouldn't let me submit my review without rating.
